Everyone,
This is my pre-cert. flight on an Aerotech G77. I just wanted to fly the rocket again before trying to certifiy with the H128. I should have waited for better conditions. Seeing the rocket hanging from a tree is a lesson that I will always remember!

This is not the rocket from my build thread. I hope to certify with that one soon. I'll post onboard video of the flights when I can. I have to design a mount that will hold the camera at 350 MPH. Later, the speed will increase and I won't be able to record the flight.

Help me understand. This is obviously not just like a hobbyist deal... so what's going on here? Why do you "certify" and what all is involved?

Man I dont know why but I love these videos... Also the sound of that thing hitting the tree.. that metallic ping... Thats great. May have to add that to my phone for an alert tone when I get a text or something. Keep posting these and how high was it in the tree.

This is the same launch, but viewed from the ground. Next week I'm going to try to synchronize both videos so that they will play together in a split screen.

I can't watch this kind of stuff. I need another hobby like I need a hole in my head. :D :bigthumb

I certified Level 1 with this rocket. The video camera quit working. Apparently, it was never designed for 35G launches!

My camera takes pictures at 6.5 frames per second. These are consecutive photos at the fastest frame rate. The first shot shows the motor coming up to temperature and compression. The next shows that it is in flight. These were taken about 0.15 seconds apart!
