I really don't have the time nor desire to work with this car like I thought I would. I bought it from a close friend thinking it would be a good "get-away" for me to work on, but it's pretty much just setting. Here is the rundown.
1998 SVT Cobra, with the framed certificate of authenticity, all number match. The chassis has approx 93K on it. The engine is freshly rebuilt with less than 2K on it. The transmission has been swapped out to a T56 of an '04 Cobra (6 speed) with the required driveline mods. It has a 4.55 gear in the rear-end. It has a MSD DIS 4 ingnition system with coils, etc. A Texas Mustang speedo calibrator has been installed to adjust the speedo. All emissions are removed. It has headers, off-road H pipe, and I think Flowtech mufflers. It has many add-on Auto-Meter guages installed (in the process of rewiring as they had a bad ground). It has been dyno'd and tuned for all mods, but I personally feel it could be tweaked out. I need to try to locate the dyno slip for it.
For the not-so-good:
Chrome on the rims are shot. They need rechromed or replaced. It has 17x9's on the front and 17x10.5s on the back. Tires are all at at least 70% tread though.
Needs an alternator... bearing is going out and squeeks like crazy.
Paint is decent, has some scratches here and there. Engine bay needs cleaned up, it's dirty.
Driver side door pin bushings need replaced.
Due to the aftermarket guages installed, some of the factory do not work.
Air bag light is on. I am told that the spring in the steering column broke because the wheel was not lined back up properly when the engine was installed??? Wheel is centered and it drives straight... so I am not sure.
Check engine light is on due to emissions being removed.
It had an oil leak at the passenger side valve cover gasket after the rebuild. It went unattended to for quite a bit. I recently had the gasket changed, but there is still oil on the underside of the car. It was a fairly bad leak. I believe the leak to be fixed now, but have not driven it much since the gasket was replaced.
I think I have covered it. There is a lot done to the car, be it good or bad by any certain persons opinion. It is fast, strong and has a lot of potential. Like I said, I just don't have the time to prick with it. I do have a loan through a small community bank against it, therefore I really am not interested in trading for anything (as much as I would like to have a foxbody or boat). I am asking $5500 obo. I gave $5000 for it, paid for tax, title, new front driver side tire, new steeda clutch cable, valve cover gasket... so even at my asking price I am losing some money.
