What are you guys running in your t5s? I'm getting ready to change my fluid and have heard so many different opinions. The car is just a 1998 v6 daily driver. The owners manual says to use Mercon V ATF and that's what I used last time I changed it. However I have been told that the Mercon V has too much of an additive package, causing the syncros to become damaged. I have read everything from guys recommending synthetic Royal Purple synchromax to Lucas additive to gear oil to dexron mercon III. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I am using the RP synchromesh but only because its face plated. I have run Mercon ATF before in a stock box with no issues.

I like the Pennzoil Synchromesh you can pick up at Advanced.

Does it make a difference between the older fox body T5 and the newer T5s?

actually i had a t5 out of a newer v6 car behind a 331 in a 90 lx hatch, with tfs heads and an anderson n111 cam, longtubes, racebullets, carbd car stealth intake and a well prepped 650 demon, i left at 5500 on slicks pulling the left front wheel about 6in( the car ran consistent 7.10s in the 1/8th) and it took more abuse and shifted smoother than any other 5speed tranny ive ever had it was still in the car functioning perfect when i sold it after a whole season of track abuse . just my .002. :bigthumb
