Hey guys, i haven't been on for a while (besides to check PM's on my phone) because my PC is down...hard drive mechanical failure and i lost a TON of data

In the meantime i've been working on my '52 Schwinn lowrider. I'm undecided if i like the paint distressed and old looking or if i'm gonna respray it satin black. What it is now is gray primer with satin black over it, and then scotch pad rubbed to smooth it out for a respray but i started getting through to the primer and i kind of like how ratrod it looks...i might hit it with some steel wool and bring the primer through even more. The bars/stem/crank/sprocket/tires are off a '70 Huffy, and the wheels are off a cheapo Walmart bike that just happened to have red rims like i wanted. The seat and forks are some old bike shop parts from back in the '90s when the lowrider craze got big..the seat is waved crushed velvet. If the crank arms were any longer it wouldn't pedal but being so short it rides a lot nicer and easier than it might look...they don't shove your knees into your chest any worse than my other 20in bikes do even with the seat so low. The gearing is just right so it doesn't kill you to ride it and you can go a decent pace. Its even pretty easy to ride standing up. I still haven't polished the forks or bars from sitting in storage for a few years but here's pics anyways. It sits so low it doesn't even need a kick stand..it leans over on the pedal lol.

I might have to crash the cruise in on this bitch...can i get away with parking this in a parking spot?

That looks very uncomfortable.

You'd be surprised...i'm 6 foot and it's not near as bad as it looks. The bars look like they're far forward but the frame is so short it all works out. The reach of the bars is just about perfect, right out in front of you at arms length. Granted you won't be riding any marathons on this bike but that's not really the point ;)

Always loved lowrider bikes, that looks pretty awesome... I say leave the paint as is.

I'd powdercoat the spokes black if it were mine though.

Here's a few updated pics. I had to trim a little off the banana seat posts, they were dragging on turns lol. I scuffed the paint a little more and did some horror show lettering...when i thought about what to call it, Holy Roller just popped into my head and stuck

Here's some of my favs:

All I can hear is the "Lowrider" cover by Korn in my head as I look at your bike! :bigthumb

I dig it!

Yeah tell me about it...lol. Every time i get on it, my GF starts trying to talk in a heavy mexican accent. I've actually got my eye out for a 24 or 26 inch springer fork for it...i'd have to cut down the steering tube and probably add some threads do it to make it fit, but i could make it work...i'm really going for a bobber look more than a lowrider look, the forks are just what i've got to work with.

So the next question is....does it need some chrome fenders or no? I've got a full fender for the back and a 1/4 fender for the front, but i kinda think it looks too busy with them on it. I mocked it up and it looks kinda gaudy...i'm leaning more towards the naked look.
