Feeler: 99 SVT Rims

Thinking about selling or trading the rims / tires that came on the car I just bought. I'm not a fan of chrome wheels.

Tires are 275/40/17 Sumitomo's on the rear and 245/45/17 Blue streaks on the front.

Traced back through the guy I bought the car from to the ad below, and these are the exact rims and look exactly like the pics, previous owner probably didn't put 1k on them, I've put maybe 400 miles total. They ride great, driver side has a ding in the lip, not too bad unless you're right on top of it. Some minor peeling here and there, but overall look great from 5-10' away. Would be nice for someone's daily, but are not show quality.

Original ad, and pretty much the exact condition now, maybe a few thousand extra miles on them. Car has always been garaged, I won't even let it see rain.

If there is interest, and you're looking to purchase and not trade, I will need time to order in my new rims and tires as I've got nothing to put this one on if I pull these. I have no idea the value of these, original ad was $400.00, tires are deep in tread on the front, and about 45% left on the rear. I'd say $400.00 obo is fair to start it out. Please let me know if I'm way off on pricing.

Make me an offer, would consider a very clean set of stock gt rims or? Please, no chrome.

How bad is the peeling? I don't really see it in the pic. Are all four the same width?

I'm overly critical about wheels, so really it's only a couple spots and not that noticable. It looks like possibly just clearcoat coming off, I believe it's just on the wheel that has the curb ding. I'm going out to the garage to have a look at them.

Looks like just the driver side wheels, on the DS Front there is a bubble in clear near the SVT cap. Can see in pic...

If you look at the DS Rear, you can see a spot near the curb ding and there are a couple other smaller spots. Hardly noticable from 5-10' away though. I'm just very picky.

Passenger side wheels look pretty good actually, no real visible imperfections. AFAIK they are the same width, but I've not taken them off to see.

do you have a tire depth gauge to get the actually depth of the tire? im looking for a new set due to i bent a rim.

I'll get them measured soon. If the weather will straighten up I'm going to pull it out of the garage and get good quality pics of them.

Sorry I've not been the fastest on posting the current pics, but unless a trade comes along I have to throw a new set on to sell these so I'm trying to make up my mind on which wheels I want to go with.

hey man do you still have the wheels? I just bought my gt a few weeks ago and am looking to sell my 19" wheels cause i hate them and I love the 99 svt rims.

Yeah, I've still got them but unless a good trade offer comes up I may end up waiting till spring before I buy as there probably aren't many good weather days left this year.

Some parts on my winter to-do list are sport lowering springs, tri-ax shifter, long tubes, rear seat delete / leather front seats...maybe wingless rear deck and cowl hood. Not sure what else honestly, throw something out there I might be interested.

Wheel wise, I'd like Black Saleens or Black 03 Cobra wheels.

I got a complete 00 gt 4.6 id think the only thing you'll need is new bolts and gaskets. Only thin bad is the intake manifold has two messed up screws for cop. Never had a problem tho

hmm, I've considered picking up an entire engine to build this winter. Let me see if my funds will allow a rebuild + new wheels (I wouldn't have anything to roll on if I pull these).

Yeah, this one wont see rain much else snow. I'd sit it on donuts over the winter as I wont be driving it here soon. I'd rather not sit it on jack stands though in case I needed to move it out for something.

Going to bump this back up.

I'm picking up new rims this weekend so willing to sell these with our without tires depending on the price. Have picked up a small screw in the driver side front tire but still holding air. It's in the meat of the tire and not between the treads so it may not have actually punctured the tire, wont know till I pull it. Due to the holidays and work schedule I just haven't had spare time to mess with it yet.
