It appears that some haven't, certain people just keep their mouths shut about other peoples vehicles, case in point my co-worker Andy (Facemelter71) he has built his car himself, with a very small budget, limited space to work on it, has done 99% of the work on the car himself, granted it's not the best looking car at there by no means, however how many guys on this board have a 12 second daily driver that they have put together themselves & are not afraid to put it out there with all the "pretty" cars??? Cut the guy some slack, you know who you are & I'm quite certain you bought you car. " Don't Knock a Brother Down"

Fuck'em. Let that shit roll off your (his) shoulders and don't let jealous people bring you down. I've had people give me shit for my car, even more after it ran 12s. There's nothing like having a quick car for cheap while the guy next to you has spent thousands and can't get it right. It's even better when you build it yourself, although i have to give my buddy Kenny credit for helping me with a LOT of the work.

Kenny I know your a pretty cool guy and we have hung out before.But this whole saturday thing of calling my car a garbage can and rusty some thing or other,or slow somthing isnt that cool.

Once or twice at the begining of the day is ok,good natured ribbing is always great and I can take it as well as dish it out.But going on through out the day ,it gets kinda old.I know my car is easy to make fun of.I built the engine and suspension first and never really looked at the outside.I myself personally turned every god damn nut and bolt in that engine and suspension.The guy I brought with me also heard you constantly saying some thing and had mentioned some thing to me about it on the ride home.He said for me to just shrug it off and not let it bother me.
I have done the best I have done with my car with the money I have.In between custody issues and me finally getting my feet back under me from the Wife being laid off months ago.
I sat down with KB1 this morning and talked to him about it,he got kinda upset just as I did about it.He helped me build the engine in the back of the parts department here at work.

I by no means have a pretty car,but I like it.

I did call the car ugle several time throughout the day but I thought it was a running joke as even you said your wife would not let you spend another dime on the car till it was painted. I'm also very aware that your are starting body work and paint soon and will have it looking as good as it runs. I did also tell you a couple time throughout the day that you were turning some good #'s that I thought were pretty impressive. Looks like my r/s car, renegade car, convertible, etc, when I was working on them. Shit if you said, hey my car's all done here she is! Ain't she purdy!? Then maybe, someone could say something, but hell, you're workin on it. I still drove my cars, and enjoyed them while I was getting to what they eventually became. Keep your head up, you did it yourself and it's a decent looking car, and with a paint job, it will be a slick coupe. Good job man.

i had a pink lx that everyone would joke around about. people would laugh at it till i raced them and beat them. it was funny just to see the look on there face when we got back to the lot and there attitude would change about it.

Andy I do feel bad and really did not mean any harm in my comments. I've been there several time myself. Hell the last car I built started like this and never did get a real paint job. And yes I did buy my current car but the one pictured I think I touched every nut and bolt on it myself and know what its like to scrimp and save every penny to get a car built.

Honestly I liked the car myself and it ran real good too. I have been there before and have been lucky to even have one. Some people have to do what they can to just enjoy the hobby. Good luck with the car and keep bustin asses without the paint. It wont make it any faster with a shiny paint job!

In all actuality this thread is my fault. If I wouldn't have given the keys to my gf she wouldn't have had the chance to wipe the pass side of faces coupe off all those parked cars on MLK and the car would only need buffed and the trim painted.

If its any counselation that was the last LS equipped vehicle she was allowed to drive.
