I have been searching for some mini tub pictures and what all was required to do such a job. I have seen a ton of info on it but I'd like to see what people on here have done and what size wheel/tire combo and how much the rear was cut down.
Here is kinda what I'd like to see.

Here are some from my last car. It was using Wolfe mini tubs, 15x10 w/ 6.5 bs wheels, 325/50 tires and a 8.8 that was narrowed 2" per side. Any more questions feel free to ask.

Yeah the current car can fit the family so I can at least run the kids around town. The other car looked cool as hell but would have just sat in the garage.

8.8 with 9" ends cut 1" 15x10 6.5 BS rim If I was doing it again I would do a 12" rim with offset control arms.

Well I got rid of the 9 inch back to Denny so Im going with the 8.8 and stock suspension now. I was thinking around 2.5 to 3 inches removed from it. I dont think Ill be able to use the same wheels now though but we'll see.

there are pics of mine in my build thread.
weels are not mounted yet but its a 15 x 10 with 4inch bs
need the rear end cut down 3+ each side.

draggin50

3 inches gets pretty close to the lower control arm mount. Did you go with the offset lower control arms? Id like to do 3 inches on mine as well since I already had the wheels for when the 9 inch was in it. They are 15x10 with 3.5 bs. I just dont wanna come up short and have clearance issues with wheel/tire and lca.

one90gt
04-08-2011, 02:22 PM
I havent had the rear cut down yet, but i think that you would clear the lca. im guessing 3.5 is what ill have to have cut off, maybe 3.75. i took a few picks of the wheel mounted to an 8.8, and a pic of the distance to my lca. the 8.8 came off a sn95 car if that makes any difference.

I took mine and dropped it off yesterday to be cut down and have the 9 inch ends welded on. My housing was appr. 54 inches from flange to flange. I had almost 4 inches from the flange to the LCA bracket on each side. I think I can get about 3 inches shorter and run the offset lower control arms from Team Z and get away with a 4.5 inch bs wheel. Ill have to measue for wheel size once its done and in the car.

Ok thanks. I have pics of the 9 inch in mine which was 46 inches wide flange to flange. I think all I can go on the 8.8 is 48 max. And I had 15x10 wheels with 3.5 bs with 325/50s.
