I have enjoyed the hell out of my 2001 ZX3 S2 for the past 10 years. All it needed was more power, and it looks like my next DD will be the 2012 Sport.

Also, in the past the Turbo, AWD version was the RS. The ST was always the FWD, turbo version. One could hope, but USDM has been slow or non-responsive to driver's desires for AWD in a compact.

According to http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/car/4575/Ford-Focus-ST.html it is supposed to have a turbo 2.0L Ford EcoBoost engine. MS3 has a direct injection turbo 2.3L and a 6spd. So there will be SOME differences. With the interior shots, from UCP.com, it might breach $30k. :(

The S40, Euro Focus, and Mazda3 were all designed on the same C1 chassis. I think the C30 is the same chassis, but I haven't confirmed it.
