I guess I need to start a build thread. I've been sitting on this pile for a while and finally got the room to tear into it. The 40th anniversary of the Pinto is 2011 and FordPinto.com is throwing a big get together at All Ford Nationals.
I have a complete 302, motor mounts, wiring harness, CPU, T5, bell housing, flywheel, 8.8 rear, 5-lug axles, rear brakes, front brakes, new seats...
I need a clutch pack, radiator, hoses, fuel cell... and then everything put IN the car.
Looks like I need to weld in some floor pans at a minimum. Driver's side was bad when I parked it. I can yaba daba doo it right now. :( I am surprised the passenger didn't fall through when they sat down. Someone ghetto rigged some aluminum plate in the rear foot well and one of the four passenger seat mount points was GONE.
I am hoping to get it stripped down tomorrow and on a roll jig by next weekend. So I can start welding.
For floor pans, is 16ga steel sheet metal adequate? For some reason no one seems to make pans for this car.
Anyone have a bead roller I could borrow?
Anyone up for helping me eat pizza and drink beer?
