It’s stuck in recovery mode. If it won’t come out he will be forced to update to 4.0.2 which does not have a jailbreak available. 4.0.2 will never have a jailbreak available since the Dev team doesn’t want to waste time with it. Apple repaired the PDF exploit that the dev team used to jailbreak the new 4.0 OS. Also if apple doesn’t make 4.1 compatible with the older 2g 3g phones he will be stuck on 4.0.2 for a while. Only other option is building a custom firmware for it which is possible but a pain in the ass.

Sorry Paul but you should never pay for a jailbreak. The Dev team provides the hardwork and software that allows us to do this. Do a little research online do it yourself and donate to the dev team

From the very beginning people have low level hardware hacked the shit out of the Iphone to take control of it. All the work and research is "open source" in the hacking community. There are a ton of different methods to "jailbreak" an Iphone. Jailbreaking is a high level activity that is simply done after taking control of memory and processor threads in the phone. The act of reverse engineering the phone....nevermind...

I don't get where youre coming from. Maybe it's just the hacker in me being confused....

Almost all of the jailbreak software for the iPhones comes from the dev team. Just google iphone dev team

well the guy who jailbroke ALL my other phones said he will be able to, he just needs more time. cause i love my jailbroken iphone4 he does it all by himself and he said he just needs more time, even cut-to-fit my sim card to work with the mini sim card of the iphone4

I highly recommend backing up your shsh blobs using tiny umbrella so you can restore to an older firmware if needed. Also go into cydia and select make my life easier on the main screen. This will record your shsh blobs in cydia. If you need help with it you have my number

I used redsnow to get it out of restore mode, to downgrade to os 4.0.1, I used cydia as well....... I've got all of the links at home I can post them up if you like

that's what I used but everyone told me to downgrade to 4.0.1

you use RECboot to kick it out of recovery mode, also very easy to downgrade to 3..1.2 or 3.1.3 if you need to

blah, just disable multitasking when you hack it, and some of the speed that people complain about will come back. The 3g has a slower processor then the 3gs.

well I'm coming from a Samsung Behold with no data plan so I'm doing o.k. on speed for right now..... may have to put a supercharger or something on it... lol I'm really liking the iphone so far it's pretty sweet even if it is just a 3g

But you were jailbroken prior to 4.0.2 correct? SHSH blobs were backed up?
