Wow, I hope the dog didn't get too much of a punishment. Though deserved, some just don't know any better.

Its hard to punish them, unless I catch them in the act.

EXACTLY !!! I have a buddy that when his dog would wander off and come home, He would bust his butt ... I finally got him to realize that if the dog goes off again, Why would he come home knowing what was going to happen !!!
He stopped doing it, And imagine that the dog stopped wandering off !!! LOL

Thats exactly why dogs belong outside. No chance ever will a dog set one paw in my house.

When my dogs were in their puppy years, right around Christmas they would eat the fake apples off the tree, when we would get home it was hard to get mad at them because their faces were covered with red dye.
Nothing you can do about it afterwards because if you hit them they won't understand why they are getting a swat...unless you can catch them while they are in the act...none the less it's still funny to see it happen to someone else not that I'm laughing because it's happen to almost everyone who owns a dog.

We just bought a sofa and two chairs, at Furniture Fair and I got the protection plan. They claim that they will repair, or replace the furniture, if anything happens in the first 5 years.
Our Bloodhound ate the arm of one of our other chairs and we had it repaired, using one of the accent pillows. She decided she didn't like the repair job, so she ate it again. We left it alone, then chucked it, when the new stuff arrived.
