So I have found the air leak in the intake and it was traced down to the plates. I talked to Green Sales today and they said that it would be about $500 PER side. So my question is do I get the imrc deletes? Also I read that if I get the deletes that it will throw a code in the computer. Another question is, does anyone know how to reflash the computer to change the computer so it doesn't throw a code. ANY help would be great, because I currently have the intake and imrc plates off of the motor? Thanks

they make a kit frome MMR that is supposed to be decent. I thing around $280. As far as the throwing codes, your local shop and even a programmer may be able to fix that with out a whole lot of work. do a google search and even a serch on www.moddedmustangs.com . There forums are pretty big and if you have a question there is usually someone there that has done it.

It can easily be turned off in the program. It needs to have a programmer because the computer holds back timing until it sees the IMRC's are open, then it adds in a bunch more timing. If you just take them off and don't finish it up with a tuner, it will run like a pooch as the computer will never see the plates open.

pull them off and jb weld if there plastic or weld them if there aluminum. take a dremel and remove the butterflys. then a tune.

sooo.... i took the imrc plates off and was checking into replacing them. them i started to tear them apart and realized that the orings was shot and the bearing was done with too. So I'm currently in progress of rebuilding the IMRC Plates. then after the car is back together I think it will be time for the 4.10 gears since I am saving some money by rebuilding them!!!!

It is a very common modification in the 96-98 Cobras to delete them. If it were mine and I was already in there I would delete the butterflys, but it's up to you.
