Someone was telling me that they had a few years that the 5.0 had factory forged pistons and I was wondering if this was true or not . Was also curios if it may have been the Exploder 5.0 or just a bull. Is there a better year Exploder motor I have the option of 97-99 .

87-92 mustang 5.0 HO motors had forged factory pistons. 93 and up factory 5.0 motors had hyperutectic pistons...this includes all the exploder motors as far as I know. The early explorer motors had real gt40 heads on them...like 96 and early 97 models i think. Then they switched to the gt40p heads.
