My brother had his Mustang parked in front of his house this morning next to his truck and a 77 year old man ran off the road and punted the mustang into his truck. The driver was supposable going 25 miles per hour. The Mustang is totaled and the truck was up against his front porch.

Now we are trying to get some idea how much a 84 mustang with a 351 in it is worth. Any one have some idea of value that we can use with the insurance company?

A Kia Optamia. The police officer said 25 mph. He had to be going faster the car was totally turned sideways and the truck was moved about 10 feet.

You'll be fighting tooth and nail to get what you "think" it's worth... sadly an '84 mustang isnt going to be worth much... unless you had some sort of specialty insurance on it, or collectors insurance.

Oh, and OLD PEOPLE SHOULDNT BE DRIVING!!!!

do you have pics of it lookin good?do you have pics of any mods you have done?receipts for any work and parts?if you got any of that they will take that into consideration.little over a month ago my daughter hit an ATV that pulled infront of her in the road in her 84 1/2 GT-350 anniversary.they ATV rider was responsible.so it was cover under our uninsured.they gave us 2700 for damages i can fix easy because of what the car valued at with the lower miles and the few additions done to it.we had a modified 82GT about 15 years ago that was totaled due to someone else and they tried that $2500 bit on us and i just told them find me one as nice for $2500 and buy it i need $4500.2 days later they called for me to come get check and sign off for $4500

Hopefully he had a good insurance policy. A totaled car, a damaged truck and a dented porch. $7,500 (state minimum) goes fast at that rate. I got burned by E-surance last year over a truck and a motorcycle I was carrying in it.

Either way take the check and part it out.:bigthumb

My brother is working on getting the recepts together for work he had done on it. I wish he had speciality insurance on it. I have it on my mustang. He can't afford it on his.

Ya, you'll be lucky to get what you have invested. I will say however, sometimes if it's a crazy situation insurance companies like to get it settled quick and make decent offers. My civic I paid $1000 for got me $4300, but the lady was drunk and high when she plowed into my shit. So maybe you'll get lucky too? lol.

try to find some comparable cars for sale(try for three) and print off the for sale ads. i know it will be hard to do with a 351 but it is probably the only way you will get what you deserve out of it. we have people do it all the time and it works. also make sure they add sales tax to buy a new one in on the check. it is a state law that they have to. you have to be stern with insurance companys or they will think they can intimidate you and make up the shit and scare you into signing an agreement.what company are you dealing with?
