195lph fuel pump.

we just made 308/355 over there in january (running out of fuel) ... p head combo with some tender loving care :D
prob 320/355 if that knucklehead would take it back with his new 24lb injectors ...
im guessing 272/299 ... dont like aftermarket heads on 302's, unless they are afr 165's ... you can make plenty of power with ford parts ... search, read and save money ...

hey kevin, dont worry about peak numbers ... a dyno is just a tuning tool ... midrange is as important if not more important than peak ...
you may be surprised and do really well ... when you going?
i do like aftermarket heads, but on a 302 / daily driver ~ not pulling very many rpms, most aftermarket heads are just too big ... good luck to ya :bigthumb

I ran edlebrock performer upper/lower, pussy ass e303 cam, and AFR 165s and was smoking people.. I never had it tuned or on a dyno, but it was doing 110-111mph traps based on the cars I was racing. The guy I sold it to in KY ran 12.0X@111 (slicks), so I was dead on with the traps. Anyways, I always heard great things about the AFR 165s so that's why I bought them.. I don't know how your heads compare...I'm going to say lower performance, just not sure how much lower. I'm gonna go with 300-305whp. Alot of it will depend on how your combination of parts works together too. A shitty intake (like mine had) can really hold you back over 5000rpms.

soon as the quad sells should be getting some radials. i think once i get more seat time i can do high 12s on radials. The car is not set up for drag racing at all though, its stiffer than shit and handles like a miata.
squale, i dont think my combo is set up the best it could be but i guess we will see, the eddy heads arnt the greatest in the world, but there might be some port work in the winter with a new cam and other things to set it up better.

I made 310/324 with canfield heads, x cam, edelbrock upper and lower, lt's xpipe, full exhaust, and 10:5:1 c/r on md's old dyno, but only had 1500 miles on the motor when it was dynoed if that makes a difference.

To my knowledge, Joe never did get the dyno sheets from the previous owner.
I should have asked this beforehand but is the car being tuned or just dyno'd?
I think the biggest thing holding that car back was a poor tune or lack there of. I've ridden in that car many times and bkvette can also probably confirm that that car does not run nearly as well as it should with the parts that it has. I'm pretty confident in saying that my car a few years ago with the stock motor and bolt ons would have given it a good run.
I tried to get Joe to get the car tuned multiple times but I think he was just satisfied with how nice the car was/is.
Granted, I'm not a big fan of those eddy heads, it should still run much better than it does/did. I'm not sure if you changed anything on it since you bought it so I could be way off.
Either way, best of luck and I hope to see the car do well.

5.0calypso ask joe if he knew the intake air temperature sensor was in the fender well not in the lower intake.

Get a nice set of tires, launch the shit out of it, and you'll be fine. What trans are you running? If it's a T-5 you may be wanting to have another tranny lined up LOL.

well eric you jynxed me.... Put new plug wires on it and now for some reason it has a miss fire at 4500 rpm it pops soon as it hits 4500, I gotta take the plugs out tomorrow ans make sure, a plug isn't fouled. Lost daylight :mad:

Plugs outta be quick and easy on that thing. I can do mine in the LS1 in 30 minutes... Misfire eh? Sounds like you might want to look for a cracked plug. Those symptoms are identical to the problems I had. Idled fine, drove at low rpm fine. When you go to get on it it misfires and makes backfire noises. I bumped a plug when we put headers on my car.. Took me 2 weeks to figure out why I was getting O2 codes and cylinder misfire codes....One hairline crack in the porcelin (sp?).

That is a typical problem with buying spark plugs. I work on aircraft and in that line of work if you drop it once, you drop it the second time right in the trash. People at the local parts stores are usually young and dont give a shit when they unload trucks and so on, so when they drop a few spark plugs they just pick them right up and put them back on the shelf. It happens alot.

It's cheap insurance. Buy some new plugs, gap them properly, be careful installing them. Don't over-tighten them. See what happens. Chances are that could be your problem if the car ran fine before changing plugs.

I didn't put new plugs intoday the plugs wernt old. I had new ones in the winter and the only reason I did wires is because I melted a small spot in one... I detailed my engine bay a couple days ago and I'm starting to think something got wet. :(

That could do it, but you'd think it would have evaporated by now. I washed my engine bay in my LT1 camaro and it ran like shit for about 1-2 days until it got good and hot and evaporated it all. You just have bad luck like I do lol.

aparrently... i get the car going good and im the happiest person in the world... now im like well wtf. ill check plugs, one wire wasnt on all the way had to drive bout a quater mile on 7cyls before i could find a safe place to stop. thinking that could have fucked something up

well, checked all the plugs, look fine. show that its running rich but thats old news.... now the CEL is on. and its showing a code 67. which is related to a/c. but the car runs fine for the most part (feels a little sluggish) till it warms up then boom its hits Normal operating temp and its bucking like a bitch and misfiring.
im looking around trying to figure some things it could be.:(
symptoms seem to be right in line with a bad TFI

Do you have boot protectors on? The heat from the header could be messing with the new wires that you got and they are not liking all the heat.
I had the same issue, I put new SS headers on, which were not coated and when the car got hot, I had misfires. I would try that if you don't have them already. Just a thought for ya.

the heads are already too big for a 302, now you want to make them bigger? ... hope you zing it up to 8k, you're gonna need it ...

notice you dont see many aftermarket heads in the 11's on a 302 ((NA)) ... do you know why? ... cuz anything over a 160-165cc runner kills it ... unless you zing it ...
not being a know it all, just trying to save you $$$$ ... and time and frustrations and mistakes that i made at your age ...

Before I'd do ANY porting or change ANYTHING, I'd get the car running correctly with what you have right now.
If you think a valve is stuck in the head, start diagnosing a sticking valve. No need to pull the heads off and do all this work for no reason.
KISS. Start with the basics and work your way up. I've never understood why people throw parts at cars that don't run right to begin with.

i was saying if its a sticking and i had to pull them off, i think i narrowed the problem down to ignition, im going to try to see what a different dizzy does for it.

Car is throwing codes.. EGR vaccume regulator. saying EGR has insufecient (sp)flow and that there is a low circut, which im guessing bad connection to the Ground wire for the MAF
