Since I have another rear end in the shed I was wondering what you guys think I should do.
Right now the car has an Auto with 3800 stall and 3:55 gears.
In the shed I have another rear end with 33 spline 5 lug Strange Axle's,C-clip elim's,Diff cover, 4:10 gears and Full spool.
The car has Manual steering and is driven on the street often.
Should I stay with the Gear I have or switch to the new 4:10 gears and full spool. Maybe Swap over the 3:55's to the Spool.
How would it drive on the street with a spool,Ive never had one. What about as far as parking it?

Driving on the street isn't too bad. Slow turning corners you can feel it bite, but other than that it's really hard to tell.

I drove one, with manual and a spool, it wasn't too bad.
Mine had power steering and you really didn't notice it, at all, except backing up (for some reason).
I've also heard the type of tire you run, on the street matters too. I don't remember which was more preferable, though.

Years ago I would've advised against it, but after running one I would say go for it. Cannot get anything stronger, and you know you won't get uneven traction. They really suck if you ever have to push it though!

Mine has one and has manual steering. It doesn't bother me at all. Now like chad says pushing it sucks

I hope you don't plan on driving it in the rain.

Why? Anything with a spool will have sticky tires and all sticky tires do bad in the rain

I have had a spool in my car for over 4 years now with no problems. I say go for it

Now what about my gear selection. I think 4:10's might be a little steep.

And I dont feel like buying another set of gear's. So im probly going to have to stay with 3:55's.

I've got a spool and 4.30 gears. Was even rolling around on quick time pros.
Just got back from Driving it. No issues other than its fn hot put with no AC and manual rack.

I would have to say not if its a street car...I drove mine a TON on the street and still think that is part of the reason I am in the situation I am in now...And as previously stated, getting caught in the rain blows and so does pushing it haha

I might be leaning towards having my stocker rebuilt with some new internals and selling the spool and 4:10 gears.
That might give me enough cash for the pistol I want to buy.

Mine is a C-4 but with a manual valve body and a 4000-4200 stall. I don't plan on getting it out on a day that looks like rain in the forcast. I'd be screwed.

Go full out, i have had one in mine for 2 years now and love it, tight turns are only noticed other then that normal driving is normal driving.

I thought so too, I drove on mine for 4 years or so... All I have to say is if Kennebellcobra can put his car on the rear bumper without a spool and still drive it around town, that's all you really need.

Well now I dont know.Im still undecided as to which way im going to go.Either way,I think im going to stick with the 3:55's for now and see what RPM it traps at.

I have 4.10s on my 04 and they seem like a perfect mix for street and strip. my car is a manual but my buddy has a trans am and he put 4.10s in it and now he swears by it.

Can any one tell me what there RPM's are at at about 55-65MPH,Im curious to see what it might be for me if I swap to 4:10's.
If I just stick this new Rear in the car,Ill have a spool and 4:10's. I just dont want to be at 9k RPM's all day driving through town.9K is kind of exagerating, but you get the point.

Face: My 02 ran 2800-2900 @ the 65-70 range with 4.10's in 5th if I recall right. It is the ideal gear (IMO) for the 4.6 mod motor runnign N/A street. To quote Ken MD - 4.10 on a mod motor for all around street/strip N/A, 3.55-3.73 on mod motor running F/I.

"but for a stock cammed mustang, 2800 will do real well, especially with 4.10's, it'll rip out of the hole and still be plenty mild enough for low speed cruising and stop and go driving as well as highway." quoted from racin366 on Modded mustangs. I dont wanna put my opinion in since mines not an automatic ill find someone who has been there and tell ya :)
