Is it going to be a 2 row or 3 row? Either way, if its based on a car its already got competition within the Ford line up since the Escape and Edge are 5 passenger car based SUV's and the flex is a 7 passenger car based vehicle. Seems like there is a lot of overlap there.

The Wall Street Journal article I just pulled up says it will tow 5000 lbs but your options are a 235HP turbo charged 4 cylinder and a 290HP V6 and the 4 cylinder is suppose to cost more than the V6. You can't forget the added fuel cost for premium in the 4 cylinder as well.

Im pretty sure it come's from the Volvo line-up.The XC90 can be had in either front wheel drive or AWD. They use an angle gear (transfer case) up front with a IRS out back.

our escape is fwd and 4wd and i like it. does very well for a family car in the snow.

No way can an Escape, Flex or Edge tow 5,000 lbs. So that comparison is moot.

The Flex will tow 4500 RPM with the right options so I think it compares very well.

I have a 2007 Edge loaded up and I can see my wife wanting to trade it for this. Very nice.

On the other hand, I am trading in my 2010 Fusion Sport tomorrow for a 2010 Chevy Silverado.... :dunno: - After working for Ford for 4 years I finally decided I don't want to drive a Ford anymore and I missed having a truck so I'm going to give Chevy a chance, plus I work for the finance company GM just bought :)

I know but I kinda feel bad not buying one from one of my dealers. I have Dayton and Northern Cincy so I bought it at White Allen in Dayton. They are my top Chevy dealer.

Doesn't look too bad, just looks like a Taurus-Freestyle mix with a higher ride height. It will probably sell pretty well.
