i had it for a bit. lost control of 1/2 of my face. mine was bad for a month or 2, and i slowly started to regain control of my face.
i fell asleep with my head down on a table. when i woke you, i couldnt control 1/2 my face. kind of freaked me out.

My dad had that many years ago and the doctor gave him a electrical stimulation box for that nerve to use every day for about 2 weeks. It wasn't 100% after the two weeks, but within another 2 I'd say he was 95%.

I've had it 3 times in 10 years. First time I though it was a stroke, numbness in the face, etc. Went to ER, was pretty scared. Lost taste buds, one side of face drooped, drooling, eye sagging. Looked like a monster, but felt OK. Same as you. Got on steroids right away. Took a couple of months for everything to come back to normal. My eye wouldn't tear on that side so if I cried, it was weird. Took about 6 years for that to recover. 2nd time I figured what it was and went to DR. office instead of hospital. No long term affects there. Third time felt it starting with mouth numbness and caught it REAL quick. Had to argue with the doc (regular doc was on vaca) that I knew what was coming. Got the 7-day steroids and it cleared quickly. I still drool at night if I lay on the left sise, but I can live with that. They say they don't know what causes it, but apparently it's pretty common. Unless you've seen it, it is scary as hell the first time. Good luck to you. Let us know how you are.
Damn buddy.. Hope you get better soon. If you need me to walk around with you and hold up that side of your face I am free most evenings....

I had it several yrs ago, Dr then told me it was a virus that attacks the nerve that controls that side of your face. He said most people recovery within a few months but mine never actually did. I still don't have full control of one side of my face but it really only shows on my left eye and it tends to squint more than the other. Most people don't notice but if I'm really tired it's more noticeable.

"but if I'm really tired it's more noticeable."
Yeah, me too. My face tends to droop a little when real tired.

One of my ex's mother has it. I didn't know it was something that ever got better judging by her condition.
