tremec tko 500

i have a barely used tremec tko 500 out of my old mustang that i am now selling. the transmission has between 750-1000mi on it. i bought it new in 07, and rarely drove the car after i got it in. it is a 26 spline input shaft, and had the hurst shifter that can be adjusted to 8(i think) different positions. it has only had dexron mercon trans fluid in it. shifted smoothly and did not grind.

i also have the bellhousing for it if you need that at no extra cost. i will be pulling this out of the car tonight when i get home from work.

if someone would want that as well. i was going to post that up tonight when i get a picture of it. it's a centerforce dual friction clutch.

the clutch will add to the price so i was going to make an ad seperately from this one. that's why i didn't mention it on this one at first. need to look at it and get a picture of it before i say a price, and most people would ask for a picture immediately. i'm getting used to this.

it is 302/351 bolt pattern.

but this one has the tko 600 input upgrade...(notice the difference i the shifter base plate's).. the one you have is a tko-600.

Dumb qustion...I have a TH400 that I need to get rid of so I can convert to a 5-speed...with the right clutch what kind of power can this tranny handle? I have a turboed 302 that I will eventually get tuned for 500-600hp range...

Any interest in a turbo 400 auto with manual valve body and have ectra valve body for trans brake?

i believe the 500 is made to handle 500 lb/ft torque, and the 600 is for 600. that's what i have heard and read. i'm not looking for any trades. i have nothing for this to go in anymore. so i'm just unloading it. i am out on thompson road(towards blan). if you want to come see it sometime pm me, and we can set something up:bigthumb

Tremec makes two 3550 style transmissions, the difference is in the gear ratios. The 500 has a 3.27 first gear, the 600 has a 2.97 first gear ratio. The 500 is available with either a coarse or fine spline input shaft, not an option, they are made either way, and the input from a 600 will not fit into a 500 trans. The 600 is only available in the fine spline input, both 500 and 600 have the same large output shaft.
The shifter on the trans for sale is the Tremec shifter, every 500 and 600 comes with that, I sell enough of them to know. That looks like an aftermarket unit or maybe something very early, have no clue. The one on the trans for sale is the one that every TKO I have sold has had on it.
This is a SMOKIN deal on this trans and bell setup. Can't believe it hasn't sold in the first few days. I think I'll hold off selling my 3 600's I have till the market comes back some.

then maybe he can tell it to lxn2v on buckeye then. the one i have is a 500, with the 26 spline input. and the easy way i was showed to tell them apart was the shifter. the narrower front bolts like on mine make it a 500. the wider spaces like on his make it a 600. and why do they sell a 600 input upgrade for the 500 like mine is suppose to have in it? and every one says mine is the 500 due to the shifter. the 600 has a different tail section, hence changing the bolt pattern on the shifter :confused:
