So, I just bought the car. Going through the normal tune up stuff to make sure the foundation is up to spec before starting the fun stuff. I have been thinking about what I want to do with it and I have come up with a rough in of what I want to accomplish. Since it's been a decade since I have been into mustangs and even then it was fox body. Now I have an sn95 and don't quite know the differences between fox 5.0 and sn95 5.0.

My goals for this project:
- low maintenance
- fun on the twisties, yet snappy take off
- must be steetable (not a track car)
- thinking 350ish hp

Here are items I would like to do in the next 2-4 months:
- CAI
- subframes
- lowering springs

4-6 months:
- exhaust
- h/x pipe
- headers

6-12 months:
- upper/lower intake
- throttle body
- mass air

12 months and beyond:
- cam
- heads
- suggestions to get to 350ish hp???

So for all the sn95 5.0 gurus out there, what are some realistic hp expectations if I meet my 12 month goal with good components?

Questions I still have what kind of upper/lower, tb, mass air combos compliment each other. Like cobra, gt40, etc also 65 tb/70mass or 70tb/75mass... short tube vs full long tube headers, what kind of exhaust. I don't want really loud exhaust, just one that has a nice tone to it.

So fire away and help me make my pony gallop!

Later,
Ben

don't forget gear. If I were you I would get exhaust and a gear first and maybe Cold Air Kit. Both are relitively cheap. Then if you want lower the car, I would get a set of progressive rates or something. If the suspension on your stang is in decent shape, they handle pretty well anyways. As for the heads and intake, thats should just come later. I would personally save and get a supercharger. This will put you past the 350 mark and won't make the car crazy on the street until you mash the pedal. :) But yeah, thats just me.

Good Luck with your build. There are alot of options and if you have a little patience you can find people selling things your looking for, for decent prices.

I did forget about gears until after I hit "post" lol... Regarding that, I am thinking 3.73 since I want it streetable. Stock is 3.27 right?

Also, where does everyone here get work done? Like subframes, etc? Cost to install subframes?

Oh, BTW, this should be in the Winsor section. :)

350 rwhp for an all motor 302 is tough! ... supercharger, turbo or nitrous and you're looking 400+ ...

just built a 95 vert over the winter for 95redstang ... PITA!!!! him losing every nut and bolt didnt help either

that build is in here somewhere ... 308 rwhp / 355 rwtq ... p-head combo with some porting :D

good luck :bigthumb

probably a 3.08 gear. maybe a 3.27. I wouldn't go over a 3.73 if you plan on going with boost. but if n/a I would go 4.10.

don't worry about subframes just yet. wait until your putting down the power first and then stiffen the car and get suspension. This way you can tune the suspension with the car to get the best traction.
