went to the track the other night for the first time.... spun 1-3rd... i also missed 3rd at first and ran a 15.48 @ 91.6 mph. the whole time i was spinning down the track.. i have kyb agx shocks front and rear. i had the rears set to as stiff as i could and the fronts on the middle setting. i was running street tires 275/60/15 bfg's. i was hoping the the bigger height would cut my gear down a little and i would hook up. the car is lowered but im not sure the brand of the springs and it does have upgraded rear control arms. not sure the brand of them either. I launched right around 2k each time. any sugestions? im looking into trying to get some slicks now. thanks, adam

You want to run the rears full soft to allow the weight to transfer to the rear. Slicks or dr's will allow you to raise your launch rpm

thats why im looking into the slicks so they stick... so i should have went way lower on the shocks then? i knocked it down 2 notches and didnt feel anything but next time ill try to go softer. thanks, adam

if the starter didnt go out on me the next run i was bumping the rears down to 4 instead just to see what it would do. ill give you a call.

i spun the water off the first and second time. the 3rd time i line locked it and held it for maybe 2 seconds and that was it. i didnt do a huge burnout. i know that just melts the tires and doesnt make them sticky.

he wasnt trying to be a dick. just joking that maybe you need a littlle practice. no one starts out being awesome. but as far as missing third goes, do you have a short throw shifter? that will help a TON.

btw, whats all done to the car?
When you do a burnout on street tires.. you actually make them greasy..
if the track doesn't hook at all, you'll have to try slipping the clutch

clutch doesnt really slip at all.... its all or nothing really.

sorry, i was asking a serious question... just wanted a serious answer... i know it takes practice. thats why i was asking cause i didnt know what i needed to do... and yes i have a short throw shifter but the rubber bushing is very spongy so i think im going to try to make a metal one either here at school or at home.

Now that I think about it, he's got an exhaust and intake. He's on here as well, I think as Roca Fella Bryan. EDIT: his is a 6 speed.
