Anybody got a car rental hookup for California?

I need to rent a minivan or similar for a family trip to Sacramento next month for 5 days. The cheapest I have found so far is $671 from Alamo using my GE discount.

Anybody know a better way?

Have you tried priceline? I got a V6 convertible mustang for 32 bucks a day out there.

Would a full size SUV work? Just for a comparison, I punched in July 22 to 26 and it comes up with a Chevy Tahoe from alamo for $332.

I had the same problem in Vegas. We ended up renting two compacts for 1/2 the price.

Thats expensive as hellll. anyone have a military discount? We got a van in vegas for the price or a compact.

it was $375 two months ago when i looked. I kick myself for not reserving then. We fly out the 28th of july and return the 3rd.

maybe renting two compacts is the way to go.

I rented an explorer with a 3rd row seat in honolulu for 2 weeks for $350. Rented with enterprise. I ended up really liking it, thinking of swapping out the escape for one. You gotta reserve in advance, now you know. Good luck and enjoy your trip.
