Mt 275/60/15 et street radials are 33 lbs. Mt et streets or a Hoosier quick time pro are 20 to 22lbs. If they both hook up why would'nt I pick the lighter tire? Reason I ask is I called MT and they said radials for a auto trans car and bis-ply for a manual trans. I don't buy that cause I see slicks or bis-ply tires on all kinds of cars. Any one using one or both of these tires? What do you think. Thanks.

I'd like to hear the explanation on this one as well. Never heard of picking a wheel based on transmission type (Bias-ply vs. Radial).

It has to do with the ET Streets having a MUCH softer sidewall, which gives it the ability to absorb the "hit" you have when running a manual trans, of course you can get about the same type of hit if your auto has a trans brake. I personally think the ET Street Radial is overall a better all around tire, tons of traction and it's much more stable on the big end of the track. Neither will have much wet weather traction but I still give the nod to the radial in that regard.
Also, you don't have to, but it isn't a bad idea to run tubes in the ET Streets which would most likely put you at the same weight as the radial.
