I have a guy that wants to trade me a gun for my sons mini atv but I don't anything about guns and don't know what it would be worth or how hard it would be to sell. This is the info he gave me, it is a Charles Daily m-4 cdd15 w/ a 30 rnd mag and hard case. Has red dot site and a rear pop up tactical site. He says gun is not stolen and has all proper registration and has had approx only 30 rounds shot thru it. I'm asking $1800 for the quad is this gun worth anywhere near that and how hard would it be to sell?

I wouldnt do it.I would do "maybe" 12-1400 for that weapon system.
Unless is has add on's,such as a quad rail,Maybe a Magpul stock,Red dot better be an Aimpoint or Eotech. be nice if it had more than one mag or if he threw in 1k rounds of ammo.

from what I saw online they are about $900-925 new. It could be a really expensive red dot or it could be a cheap one. Either way I don't think its a good deal if you are asking $1800.

I checked with a bud who's a dealer he said 8-900 said AR's are dropping in price actually he just hit me back so this is an edit he said he can get you a brand new one for $749.00

I wouldn't buy a Charles Daily they had quite a few issues and the company recently just went under.
Only way I would take that trade is if the Red Dot sight were a Trijicon ACOG then I would dump the AR for about 800.

He also said it is a flat top model and does not come from the factory with a handle. He said that model starts at $1400

In my experience, never trade for something you don't know about personally to resell. Trade for something you want, or something you know.

SKS depends on what it is. The chinese ones are worthless from what I have seen. The norinco are decent and usually bring $200-$500 depending on options, condition and how bad someone wants it.
I paid $250 for my norinco about 10 years ago and everyone tells me that was a great price. On the other hand it is complete with the bayonnet, and cleaning kit. All the blueing is in tact and it doesn't appear to have been fired a million times.

Norinco is chinese, from what I remember, could be mistaken tho. Thought they were just a higher end chinese brand.

Exactly but they are better quality than the junk chinese ones that jam every time you shoot them.

Norinco is chinese... Doesnt matter anyway, sks's are just cheap surplus rifles anyway. It like trying to figure out whats the rarest and most desireable of LeCar's.

The 1400 would maybe be msrp.
Not what it really goes for.
I would not want the Charles Daley. I have a few ar's and a Sig 556.
The smith would be good. Other than that pass. Or make him belly up some cash too.

Why does he want to get rid of all their guns? :/
Methinks something is odd.
Charles Daley - Meh.
BSA - low end red dot. $35-100 depending on model.
Wouldn't look at more than $750 total.
SKS Para - that might be worth a bit, depending on if it is stock or not. For a decent stock model you might be looking at closer to $275-350. Depends on what country it is made in, if it is a stamped or milled receiver, etc. With a para, it is probably an Eastern European ComBloc stamped model.
Personally, I wouldn't buy a Daley AR. I might Pay $275-300 for a decent SKS, though.

Some peeps are better at keeping guns to trade with instead of cash.
I am always really Leary of who and if I sell a gun to someone.

I mean, I've sold guns before, but someone who wants to dump guns for an ATV rather than gas or food... odd
Heck, I'm still holding onto a Garand for my dad since he had gotten laid off.

That's the great thing about SBZ, you can usually get info on just about anything. It's a great resource.

I have some duel purpose guns. Some I would not trade for anything. Others I could part with but it would have to be something I really want.

I guess I'm greedy. I only buy a gun I want and never sell them after I buy them.....

That's getting to be the way I feel now. I get tired of letting my kids go.
