Ian, you have to fill more holes in an LX hatch than you think. Been there done that. Not knocking the part Eric has for you, I'm just saying you should leave the LX spoiler on it. That is a killer deal and I'd get it if I were you.

But it's not as simple as bondo'ing a hole shut.

There is about a 1-1 1/2 inch hole in the center, that needs welded up where the LX spoiler wiring comes thru, and about 8-10 other holes from the studs of an LX spoiler. Then you have to re-drill the new holes for the GT/Saleen/Cobra spoiler. And you also have to redrill the large hole for the wiring to go thru on the left side of the spoiler. You must also drill the holes in the bottom so that you can thread the nut on the bottom of the stud on the cobra/gt/saleen spoiler. It's not extremely hard work... just time consuming. Gotta have the right bits for that steel too... I burned up a few of my older ones making it work.(there are several layers of steel combined to make a hatch) Still not quite satisfied with it but I havent worked on it anymore yet.

Welding it will of course warp the surface of the hatch too...

If you do any of this, pull the wiring out of the hatch, and then fish it back thru with a piece of cable or a coat hanger when done welding and drilling as the harness runs along the drivers side and you will hit it with the drill bits when redrilling. The wiring in the hatch will work for either spoiler, however the cobra/gt/saleen spoiler takes one type of harness, the LX has a different harness inside of it.

Oh and I also found that piece of side trim crammed under my passenger seat that I thought I gave you... so I have it now.

thanks stangman ill probably use the lx wing for a lil then fix the hatch right with the cobra wing i been doing body work along time just now getting in to deep mechanics. but yea i need this hatch and a phone number so i know where to pic it up from
