Why the hell is Kimbo still around? It's just silly and pathetic. I get that he pulls a big crowd and that's why a promoter would want him. What I don't get is WHY he pulls a big crowd. He wasn't even cool on YouTube, now he's just totally embarrassing.

I don't know. I've never seen it. I couldn't understand it back when he was only on YouTube. I've never seen anything impressive from him. He's a big scary lookin guy, that's all. I honestly think his fame from YouTube took him far beyond his actual potential. He'd have never gotten any pro fights based on talent, it was only because his fame would sell tickets.

He was looking for submissions, which I was impressed with, but lacked the experience to finish with them. I don't get why people rip on the guy so much. He looked pretty bad in this fight, but people weren't ripping on him when he whipped Houston Alexander's ass.

Kimbo trained his butt off, was very humble about whatever skills he does have, and really worked to be a good fighter. He ended up with 1 win in the UFC, which is more than 99% of the fighters in the world can say, so give the guy a break.

He is very good in bare knuckle fighting, he is purely a street brawler...very little rules...UFC completely different, even with some of the training he did get didn't prepare him enough for professional MMA.
I still wouldn't want to go 1 round with him.

I'll agree with Paul on this one. Kimbo was an internet sensation, not an UFC class of fighter. Dana White made the offer for him to come onto the TUF and prove himself. Kimbo, instead of talking trash, stepped up to the plate and accepted the offer.

I'd say he improved alot ove his time on TUF, did he gas ? yep and he had his legs taken out. That pretty much took him out of the fight. I haven't seen anybody blast Faber for having his legs taken out and losing.

I'lll give credit where it's due, Kimbo put his money where his mouth was and went for it. I'm sure Dana is disappointedthat it's not working out, but I bet that he gained alot of respect for Kimbo.

They do suck. I don't have to go fight the guy to know that he sucks. I actually used to fight in the early-mid 90s before MMA had evolved into what it is now. Everything was stand up, but that's just how it was back then.

Being able to say that someone sucks like that, it's kinda like making fun of the fat guy wearing a speedo at the beach. Am I the skinniest guy out there? No, but you also won't catch me wearing a speedo at the beach. ;)

it was all money and that is what Dana White is all about. Give credit where credit is due. Was Kimbo Slice a internet sensation, did he get people talking about MMA when he started. yes. Dana White seen it as a way for the UFC to get attention and talk about it. The UFC got what it wanted. Kimbo got what he wanted. But in the end, Kimbo is no MMA fighter even though he gave it his all.

I know I watched the Ultimate Fighter Heavy Weights just because he was on there to say his sucks I dunno about that but I think he was hyped way above his talent I'd still watch him no matter what........... fighting is just like any other sport and on any given day a champ could fall and rise........

Kimbos not a total waste, he trains hard and goes out there to fight. Is he far enough along in his fighting career to fight in ufc? Hells to the no! He was a big name that fills seats, in the arena and the couch where we all watch him on tv. What it comes down to is one of the guys that steps in that cage is gonna lose.. And one big punch can end a fight at any time. Matt is a better all around fighter with a significant reach advantage and he let kimbo know it. Strikeforce will pick kimbo up.

I would say that Kimbo could kick Dana's ass. So, according to your logic Dana should not fire Kimbo because Dana can't kick his ass. Right? I'm saying the same thing that Dana said by releasing him from his contract. You don't have to be able to kick someone's ass to know they shouldn't be fighting at the UFC level. Maybe Kimbo would do well in some local organization fighting against other much lower talent guys.

I hadn't watch this fight. After I saw your post I thought I'd go watch it and maybe it would change my opinion about Kimbo since he won.

After watching it, I just have to ask.... is that really the way you saw it? That he "whipped Houston Alexander's ass?" I thought it was a terrible performance by BOTH fighters. You could just feel Joe Rogan's pain as he tried to find something exciting to say about the fight.

Kimbo won, but it just leaves ya shakin yer head and wanting your 15 minutes back.

Here is Kimbo's problem. On TUF they showed that kimbo has an un fixable problem with him knees. That's why he didn't take the wild card fight. Now all the fighters know all they need to do is kick his legs. I love watching kimbo fight. I'm one of the guys who will pay for every card he's on but with everyone knowing how to beat him he can't win. Matt is a smooth ra-tard and has no business in the ufc anyway. Matt was to be a free win for Kimbo and after his loss it has Dana in a spot. I don't think they have a worse heavy weight for him to fight. Unless they can do something about his legs its game over
