The bfg's aren't cutting it right now.

they are 325/50/15's and i want more bite, best 60 has been a 1.67, then, it either spins, or i drop the r's down and run 1.71's 1.72's

obviously a full slick would be best, but i want to be able to drive the car there

On the bfg site, it says section width, 13", (is that the middle bulge of the tire) on the ones i have (no tread width)

I ask because on the racestars, the car has to be jacked from the pumpkin for them to fit, the shock tower bulges a bit, but they fit ok

i don't want anything wider, but i want the most tire i can fit

the hoosier quick time pro 28x13.5x15 says sec width is 12.9 (tread width of 11)

the 28x11.5 says sec width is 11.5 (tread width of 10)

is the 13.5 overkill?? whadya think?

the nice thing on the q/t pros is they are 20 pounds in the 11.5, 22 in the 13.5 where the bfg's are 35 each, so, looking at cutting between 52 to 60lbs of rotational weight as well

The 28x11.5 QTP's are just barely bigger than a 28x10.5" MT slick. Have you thought about a MT or Hoosier DR? or even the new goodyears?

the 13.5 qtp will fit if the 325 50 did

i just hate to spend money on another dr to not hook like a slick

thats what i'm thinking

how do these ride on the street? i know they always say "not intended for highway use" but i'd still drive to the track and it's a good 45 mins each way

I have a friend of mine that has gone a 1.25' 60 ft time with the mickey thompson 325/50/15 but he is running an auto trans. I have read that the DR tires don't work very well with a stick car. Personally I have no experience with them yet. Maybe in the fall.

they ride good cause of the soft sidewalls, but i always pumped them up to about 25lb on the street and as low as 10-12 at the track.
a drag radial would have better road manner cause theyre stiffer, less sway.

I run these in 26/11.5 on my 04 and as long as it is dry out you wont have any problems. There is no floating or drifting feeling or anything. I run mine at 28psi while driving and 12psi at the track. They also hook great man the first night i tried them at edgewater they hooked so hard i almost stalled coming off the line everytime.
