Im getting ready to do some mods to my mustang GT with automatic transmission and am gonna throw 100 shot of nitrous on it.what kind of transmission mods should I do.and if converter change what converter is best that priced halfway affordable?

Dirtydog builds some pretty nice convertors and has a far better understanding of the voodoo that goes on inside one of those things than most people, especially me. He should be able to at the very least steer you in the right direction as far as tranny mods go as well.

100 shot of nitrous shouldn't be too made of a load, the question becomes to install a hardened (03+) gearset or not. It may be cheaper to find a low mileage late model transmission to start with.

if its a dry shot id imagine the stock trans will hold it for quite a while.

I dont ever use dry shots.its gonna be a wet kit.

I have no love for a stock transmission in a performance application. The retainer ring on the reverse drum is prone to coming off at high rpms, the stock pressure regulator valves are always worn on one side and the overdrive needs all the help it can get. The forward clutch in these is good, they rarely fail, same goes for reverse. The direct clutch is usually fried when they are run hard so adding one more friction there helps a ton.
