Decided to go big!
I have a 1990 Jeep Wrangler 4cyl and am putting in a 1993 5.0. Going to be a slow moving project since I work 60+ hours a week. But cant wait for this to be running.
I will be doing the work myself so hopefully all turns out well! I have never done anything like this before...

Here is a pic of the 4cyl in it.. crappy iphone pics..

Yup going EFI
I have a 93 harness all ready for the swap.
Right now it is stock on 30" mudders.
Will be putting a 4" lift with 35s

keep this updated, this is something i may be doing over the winter ... post up pics and write ups ... put up the small details if you could ... tranny, engine harness, adapter plates and such ... hope you're not using the stock dana 20 axles and ax-5 tranny ...

i was planning on using the ax-15 tranny, dana 35 axles and an explorer engine ... 33's and 4" lift ... i would love to find a TJ ...

in the meantime, this is what i borrow from the lady friend ... 2004 solar yellow, 4.0 5 speed ... 4" on 33's ...

Using a ax15 and np231 from a 4.0
They are strong enough to hold the 5.0 Power.
Plan on a grabbing some rubicon axles or do a 8.8 swap.
Yes I will keep you up to date on what I do,

Nice looking jeep!

I'd really like to do this some day. The crazy part is you'll get more power and better mpg from a 302 than i do my 4.0 I6.

And it is cheaper to swap in a 5.0 than it would be for me to put in a 4.0

Alright, I always wanted to do this. What parts are you sourcing? Meaning what transfer case and transmission's will bolt up. I'd like to have a 4 wheel dr, 5.0 cherokee.

The 4.0 trans and transfer case will work. just need an adaptor plate.
You will need a bellhousing from a 80s ford a chevy clutch

Truck 5.0 headers
will need frame mounts for the 5,0
then a wiring harness
I am using a 93 mustang harness
you can do this for under 2k

Here is what I am starting with
Will be putting a new grille and fenders on it also due to the rust...

Tellico4x4.com is where I got the adaptors and motor mounts. They are advance adaptors but they are $70 cheaper if you buy em from tellico. They just drop ship from advanceadaptors.
You need a 87 truck bellhousing with a 4.9.
I am using the ax15 trans.
