2009 Z06 Test drive

Got the opportunity to drive my parents neighbors 2009 Z06 today, one word.....impressed. The car is so smooth and it just wants to pull and pull. Very nice car. The clutch is a little tricky at first, but the car is definitely very well put together. GM seems to finally have gotten a car right. If only I had 80 grand sitting around....

Have you seen the episode of Top Gear where they test one? It was falling apart and broke down within hours of driving it.

I dont call a corvette a gm, its all By its own its a CORVETTE. A little weird it goes 75mph in 1st though.

:) I have owned several GM's and there was always something I disliked. This one covers all the bases. Power, stops on a dime, good ride, no interior noise.

I got to drive one back in the fall. Very impressive. Factory electric exhaust cutouts....very cool!!

Jeremy Clarkson was referring to the ZR-1 that he pounded on for 3 days, and didn't start. Although he did set a record for stock production cars at Bonneville with it.

You can get a base C6 for that, but not a new Z (although 09s have been going for as little as 62K with 0%).

Used, there have been several C6Z's going for sub 40k.

I had a 99 vette with a auto in it and I sware it would do 60 mph in first gear before it shifted, I just left it in drive, it was a fun car.

Why? I'm not Chevy fanboi but the Z beats the GT500 in pretty much every single performance category.

I believe it was the ZR-1. He was making a comparison test between the ZR-1 and the Audi R8. I think it was the carbon fiber on the trunk lid. He also pointed out how you could push the rear panel of the car in and out.....lol. He did recommend it over the R8 though.

my old mans Zo6 in hugger orange, I have put over 1,000 miles on it, it rips but my buddy bought this Zr1 and I drove it, it needs drag radials lol

I just can't get past that butt ugly polycarbonate peephole in the ZR-1's hood. Rice. IMHO it cheapens the appearance.

Agreed, but I would like to have the magnetic suspension for the Z06.
