No one was hurt, the equipment passed all tests.
Just Impact wasn't buying the labels from SFI.....so SFI gets pissy and pulls the certs.

I have a Impact jacket and pants....I'll continue to wear it just like I have for the last 2 years. This seems to be a legal pissing match between sfi and impact.
Here is the statement from SFI

Bottom line is SFI sets the standard and Impact is decertified. Cant race with their products without the cert.
Looks like Bill Simpson is now 0 for 2.
Personally, I would love to see SFI go away and just require equipment to meet FIA standards like in every other country in the world.

Certification tags = Control. Control = revenue. Revenue = the goal of SFI

The Impact harnesses are very good unless they've changed things over the past few years. I worked at a place that did a lot of testing of safety equipment for several Nascar teams and the Impact stuff tested better than anything else out there, so I wouldn't worry about the quality of their product. It's just a money issue IMO.

Yeah Tim, their stuff is top notch. You won't have to worry about being safe with them. I bought my Impact harnesses after seeing the results of the testing, had been using Simpson prior to that, who BTW, didn't test nearly as well. The Simpson stuff didn't do bad, it just didn't do as well. Funny thing is, same guy started both companies.
