Anyone run big-blocks in your cars or trucks? Since i'm a truck guy my theory is "there is no replacement for displacement". I know weight might be an issue for some of ya.

Once people starting having success with blowers and turbos, i think big blocks went the way of the dinosaur. The big dogs still use big ass mountain motors WITH turbos but i think the average guy is content with building up a stroked Windsor and putting some kind of power adder on it.

i have a few big block cars...take a big block and put a turbo on it..then all the sb guys cry foul! lol

Small blocks are ok to drive the wife and kids to church on sunday. If you want big power you need big inches or big dollars.

LOL now thats funny but true! The only substitute for cubic inches is RPM and or MONEY$$$$ I love the 8.2 deck 302 base motors and the 9.5 windsors I have had them all but if you want big power on a budget BBF and BBC are the way to go in my book.

bbfstanger on here is a BBF Fox fan !!! He has built some BADA$$ Stroked BBFs for a few guys on here !!!
Nothing like a 460 punched out to 557 cubes turning 8k in a 2900lb fox !!! LMAO

If i could get the set off my truck (77 f-250)without breaking a bolt in the head i would give them to ya. probably would'nt work any way. do you know what manifolds would work? I run into all kinds of stuff all the time.

cars or truck iirc..c-4 stock? i wouldnt run one above 500 ft-lbs. and to be honest, i wouldnt run a weak ass c-4. i love c-6's

Anything with a 351/400 Modified in it. IIRC, cars tend to have the pump mount bell and case and truck have case mounts. Although I have seen it reversed.

351-400 mods have the big-block bolt pattern which means a c-6. been building these things for years and havent seen a c-4 behind one.

I just got my Hooker 4 piece 460 headers last night... no need for manifolds now!

What mods would I have to do to the C6 to make it worth using? (since they are big and heavy!) I know I would prolly need a converter atleast cuz of the cam I have.

And yes, they do make a big block C4 bellhousing... Didnt they technically call that trans a C5?

I know summit and jegs sells aftermarket bells for a c-4. There is a rare canadian 351/400 motor that had a c-4 behind it but it had the small bolt pattern. Most 3-speed trannies that I have seen behind a big-block were c-6.
That does'nt mean that ford did'nt put something else behind them. If a c-6 can hold up to a 500 hp medium riser 427 from the factory i would use that! A c-4 does'nt use as much hp to run as a c-6. I think it takes @ 30 hp to run a c-6, less for a c-4.this is what bob boyd at boyds trans told me awhile back.:bigthumb
