I have a real bad tick from driver head i know about the tsb and was wondering if these heads had any lash adjuster issues. Tring to avoid replacing the head kinda low on cash

How many miles? I thought the head tick usually showed up the first 5-10K?

Why is it always the driver side head. What do you think the problem is I have replaced lash adjusters several times on the markVIII motors for driver side head tick issues. Seemed to mostly be the 93-95 with the low volume oil pumps.

Something to do with the oil flow ports if I remember right. Also if I remember correctly the only fix is to replace the head.

It's the poor water jacket design for #7 and #8 cylinders that cause the problem in the driver's side head. The lack of cooling can be a problem with pullied Terminators.

There are some interesting theories out there about the tick. I think it is more of a valve seat, valve guide issue more than anything.

There should be a recall to take care of it. I can check on that tomorrow when I head into work (just stared a job at a FORD dealership yesterday.)

the tick from the driver rear head is caused by lack of oil to the rear cylinders and the pass head had water jacket issues i wound does a tappet go bad and cause issues

I think i recall reading about a TSB on SVT.com several years ago when I had a Cobra.

You are correct sir, it is a TSB and unfortunately not a recall. Many early 04's had the tick but apparently they solved the issue sometime in the middle of 2004 production.
