So I've noticed a small pink fluid leak under my car for a little while, it's close to under the transmission. The car hasn't been losing any Coolant at all (it's the green stuff anyways) the car is a 5 speed so it obviously isn't transmission fluid. The power steering pump is going bad but last time I checked it was full of fluid and that's really not even close to where the leak is coming from under the car. It's really not even close to a red, more straight pink and doesn't seem to thick more watery than anything. Anybody have any idea what it could be?

did you fill the transmission with fluid, or did someone else?

Well I've only had the car for about 5 months so someone else would have last. Manual tranny fluid wouldn't be pink though would it?

not everyone uses manual trans fluid. i use dexron mercon in any transmission that i put fluid in. i was told that it is the best trans fluid.

:confused:most newer man trannies use dexron or atf fluid. yea this was a big kicker for me,cause i was used to using 90w. Some trannies also use special lube, my 00 jeep wrangler uses a synthetic based lube in the tranny. check your manual to see what is reccommended.
It's trans fluid... Crawl under there and find out where your leak is coming from and fix it. Problem solved

ATF for sure. Check seal at rear of tranny where the driveshaft slides in. I did have it out to fix the speedo gear but it looked good then.
