Recently I found that I was having trouble seeing things up close, so I had an eye exam done and they said I was going to need reading glasses. I got them and I really noticed a big improvement in my vision while at work. That being said I hate the glasses and I'm thinking about having Lasik done. A lot of things I do for fun make glasses a real pain, so I thought I'd see who's had it done and what your results were. Would you do it again and do you have any recommendations?

a guy i work with just had it done and he said it was the best thing he's done. he said he can see better then when he had glasses.

the only thing he said at night when driving the other cars headlights have halo around them. he said thats normal and that it goes away after a couple months or so, but there is a change it wont.

but he says he's glad he did it and wishs he would of got it done earlier.

My wife just had this done a month ago and is very pleased. She's in the medical field and was a little nervous but since is glad to have done it.

Like posted before she still see's a blur from headlight's at night but was told that would last a few month's.

She had them done at Lasik's Plus in Montgomery accross from Kenwood mall.

Her eyes were really bad like -7.5 with astigmatism and was still able to get this done for like $3200 total.

Had mine done in 1998 at lasik plus in Kenwood by Dr. Marino. They had a special then, and it only cost me 500.00 p/eye. Best money I ever spent, and would pay triple that if I needed it done again. You do have a slight halo effect for a short time, but it clears up rather quickly. Actually had 20/15 vision which is better than 20/20 for a couple years..lol. I wore glasses and contacts for 10 years prior to the surgery, and still found myself reaching for my glasses on the nightstand first thing in the morning for a while..:D

Well worth the money, I had it done twice about 10 yrs ago.
Halos around lights at night are the only thing noticeable to me, just something you get used to.

Once again showing my age but I had RK or radial karetotomy thats the knife job done back in 1998. Absolutely best money I ever spent. Glasses and contacts are one huge pita.

I had mine done in 2000, saw 20/20 right after. I was 20/15 few days after. I paid about $1500 at Lasik PLus in Dayton. One of the issues with the night time halos, was that when your eyes dilate at night the early lasers could only treat a pupil so big. So just an example, your eye dilates to 3 cm(or whatever) and their laser would only fix a 2.5 pupil. This would give you the outside .5 of your eye that was not treated. This is you seeing slightly blurred/halo with the untreated section of your pupil. And because your eyes dilate at night to allow more light in, it happens at night. I wore glasses/contacts since 3rd grade. Absolute best money I have ever spent!

The only regret is not doin it sooner. I have the halo effect but I had it before. Too much time staring at the sun.

I had lasik back in November 1998. I went to Dr. David Schneider at the Midwest eye center in Cincy. Without a doubt one of the best decisions I've ever made.

My wife had Lasik done by Dr. David Schneider at Midwest Eye Center. Schneider is "The Man" when it comes to laser eye correction. She went from legally blind to 20/20. You get what you pay for. :bigthumb

I'm disappointed, i was expecting to see through walls and chicks clothing, other than that it was a success.

Had mine done over ten years ago by Dr. Stahl. Best money spent for sure. I wish that I could have had it done when I was younger but y'all know how that goes. Todays procedures are even better and more accurate so go for it!

Had mine done about 2yrs ago at Cincinnati Eye Institute by Dr Varley. Highly recommend him. If you decide to get it done, at least get the free consultation from him before getting it done elsewhere.

I checked into it and they said it was only for near sighted people, not far sighted. They said they couldn't do anything for that. I have perfect 20/20 vision, just can't see up close. They said they could do one eye for close vision and one eye for distance, but that sounded kind of crappy to me. did anyone of you have far sightedness that was corrected in this way?

I read about the dual vision when I had mine done. They told me when I get to the point I need reading glasses since I was close to 40 when I had mine done that they can adjust one eye to see near and leave one to see far. Seems your brain compensates for it and you can see both distances. So far my near vision is still good.
