98 odometer trouble

I have always had a foxbody,,, my daughter has a 98 v6 auto. Her odometer quit.. have been told it has a cable for the odometer , and that the speedomer is electrical,,, also been told both speed and odometer were electrical and I need to buy a dash.. I am sure someone on here has worked on a 98,, appreciate the help..

I have a 98 cobra, the v6 has the same set up. It's a gear driven sender in the trans, but its electric. If the speedo still works you probably need a gague cluster. You can proabably find a cheep one at U pull and save.
