ok the headers in my coupe are soooo hard to take off so since i have the engine pulled i have them laying around i need to know if anyone can clean them up and give them a nice plain finish they are just kind of a rusty color any help or ideas?

ted you can sand them down and mark painted his silver and its still on there... they look good.

Any kind of "spray paint" you use, will be gone after some time. Coating them is the only way to go.

If they are chrome already, having the finish taken off and coated with something else would be extremely difficult... Just throw some VHT header black on it and roll with it, LOL

Are they chrome, ceramic coated or just a normal black that has now rusted? If they are not chrome or ceramic I can strip and coat in ceramic. I normally do shorties for $200 and longtubes for $300 as long as they aren't too beat up.

Ah dude they're headers, I mean...unless you have cash leaking from your ass, I'd spray em with high temp primer and then high temp paint and call it a day. I've had header paint last almost a year.

And to be honest, black high temp paint IMO is the way to go.
When it starts to fall off...it doesn't look like "Blue Ford Realtree" if you follow me
