Sebastian Bach from Skid Rowe has a killer voice... and Bruce Dickinson from Iron Maiden is a bad ass too...
Uhh... lets see, as much as people would hate to admit it, Glenn Danzig is a bad ass too

This is all gonna come down to taste in music and what people individually like. I could list my top 5 but none of you have probably ever heard of them...lol.
Glen Danzig is good...he would be much better without so much ego. He's the definition of "small man big mouth". I had it in the back of my head that he might really be some kind of badass until the singer from Southside Kings knocked his ass out.
If we stick to older metal, i'd have to say Bruce Dickinson, Rob Halford, and Dio just to name a few.
If we branch off into some metal where you can accept that singing isn't necessarily holding a high note till your nuts turn blue, then i'd have to say my favorite is Tommy Rogers from Between The Buried And Me. He's got an amazing range in vocal...he can actually SING but he can throw down some death metal and some higher pitch scream stuff with no problem, and his lyrics are interesting without being too deep. There's so many awesome bands i could do this all day.

Seriously I would say:
Correy Taylor Slipknot
You know I didn't think of Corey when I was making this thread but he would definitly be in my "honorable mention" if not my top 5 also. He has a wide vocal range in both Slipknot and Stone Sour. It really does come down to taste of music though. Some people like me who may love Tool may think Maynard is the greatest Singer hands down. Others may listen to older rock and may not get into him as much. All great bands though!

Mike Patton is one weird mofo. You ever see the stuff he did live with Dave Lombardo? I think it was durring the Mr. Bungle days. Faith No More was a pretty cool band though...IMO they really started the whole rap metal thing.
