Good choice on your builder Steve. He's the man! He always has some cool projects going on out there. Real reasonable also. I think he has Rob Lewis's 430" motor out there too. ;)

Hi
Same cubic inch 347... the major change is the pistons... dished with 8.5-1 compression, was 9.5-1. Different shorty headers.. mac to jba and a intake spacer for taller valve covers.

Hoping to get about the same HP, had 520rwhp. ?? if i don't get it I will repulley it.. :D I am hoping the fuel system will hold up to more HP.

Hi Jeff
Went with the Spec 3+, probably overkill but ...... I've had slipping problems in the past and wanted to try something stout!!

Good Morning Steve,
Thats right, you mentioned that earlier. I think you will like the Spec 3+. It probably will get you in trouble though, the way you like to play on the street.

Motor is sitting in the car... put the headers on last night. Had to modify them .... the head studs are 1/2" and the nuts stuck out and hit the corner of the header flange. took a while to find the problem.

http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj22/Popsfun/Car%20Stuff/IMG00143.jpg

Ground down a couple corners on the flange and all is well.

Tonight maybe the blower installed?? :D

If I can keep up the money flow it could be done this weekend, or the beginning of next week!! :D Seems like 2 steps forward and 1 step back at times!! Got the vortech hung and the intake installed tonight!!
Need a new oil line a fitting is bad and a new plug wire red MSD wires ... going to look for a braided line since it is in the front.. the vortech to the block!
My son Jay is doing the assembly and he is pretty good.. He lets me hold the light and some small stuff!!

Hi
Mounted the aluminum flywheel and the intake. Had to order some 7" bolts for the cobra intake since we are using a 1/2" spacer to clear the valve covers...... will use all thread til they come in, also cut a little nub off the intake so it would clear... Distributor in... broke a spark plug wire http://www.stangnet.com/mustang-forums/images/smilies/frown.gif darn those msd wires are expensive, radiator installed. Put the new braided line on for the vortech. Things are moving along... http://www.stangnet.com/mustang-forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
hoping to have it done pretty soon, already talking about things to do next winter. http://www.stangnet.com/mustang-forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
Every time I think I am done spending money something else comes up... like the spark plug wires.. Oh well.

Hope to be running by early next week or maybe this weekend... http://www.stangnet.com/mustang-forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif my son is ready to get it out of his garage!!
Steve

Saturday... Jay called at noon and I went over he had the power steering NS air conditioning pump hung when I got there. Dialing in the lakewood housing took forever... the offset pins were rough and wouldn't turn so we took everything down and smoothed them and tried them and smoothed them etc..

tranny went in easy...

http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj22/Popsfun/Car%20Stuff/IMG00158.jpg

Worked til 11pm and the car is done. :D :D Cranked it over to check oil pressure and get fuel pressure. Hooked up the coil and a couple of turns and the battery quit, after a couple cranks!!

:D I am a happy guy... might get over tonight to see if it starts.. :coo1:

Pops Fun
03-17-2010, 05:14 AM
I go to Tri-state. I don't run it a lot... I go 3 or 4 times a year I guess.... It's a little to fast for a vert without cage so I just test and tune:D
