I'm just wondering if anyone is running a Steg V blower and had problems such as broken welds on the torque plate. I'm almost ready to install mine but I'm going to hold off until I feel that the product is safe to install. I'm considering having the plate taken off.

There is a new thread over on Modularfords in the 03-04 cobra section about continuing issues with the weld cracking. I think Steg has a revision out that is suppose to correct the issue. I am wanting to get an eaton ported. I have been thinking about PosiPerformance doing it. Not wanting to scare you, Just hate to think you need to take it off to see if it has cracked.

You're fine, I just want to know if anyone had issues with theirs. I have the revised plate on mine but I haven't installed it yet. I've had two mechanical engineers look at the new welds which they feel would hold up in that environment as long as temps did not exceed 400F. They told me the old design was failing because of fluttering of over .010" causing the welds to break. I was going to send it back to have it removed but I'm feeling more confident it's ok. Now if people were having issues with the current design I would then wonder.

Lets see a pic of what your talking about. I'm a welder so just wondering. Then get that thing on and tuned. Want to see some numbers. What was the cost of having it done if you dont mind me asking?

I payed $700 for it off someone from Svtperformance. It has the revised plate and hasn't been installed since it's been rebuilt. I'll post pictures later.
One last thing I need to buy is a MAF sensor and I should be good to go. I'm hoping to see 500whp with the below modifications
2.8 pully, Stage V+, Catback Magnaflow, Dragon TB, 60lb, SCT MAF and FIPK.

There have been a few pretty big threads on SVTP about the welds cracking.
I'd go Posi.

I haven't seen the newest version fail but this hasn't been out for too long. I wouldn't question a Steg IV/III/II/I blower so I wouldn't count Steg out. Hopefully he gets this revision right and that he correct any of the failure prone blowers that people have.
