Did you forget? Mike Brown is the Great Redeemer!

Matt Jones was a good receiver. He could be a big help if he stays off the coke.

This is a really smart move by Mike Brown I think if we can get them, if the cap is taken away in 2011 with the Bengals being a small market team we need to start looking at players who have potential yet are on the cheap side. It's worth the risk.

Just heard on the radio they signed Matt Jones to a one year deal. From what I know he was a good receiver with Jacksonville. Just liked the blow a little.

They could sign 5 of the top players in the league and still not win a Super Bowl.

You've got it backwards. They need to keep him ON the coke and double the dose. Nobody runs faster than a coked up coke head.

Well I just hope he works out alright with the team. Since we lost Henry, we need someone to fill his shoes...

Maybe they should hire a Cinci cop to stand at the opposite end zone...That would give him someone to run from.

He definitely had more potential than most of the others if he could've straightened his ass out in time. Such a shame.

Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports has an eye-opening account from the Cincinnati Bengals' workout of newly signed receiver Matt Jones.
JonesAccording to Cole's report, the workout was awful and the Bengals signed him to a contract anyway.
"It was one of the worst workouts I have ever seen," one team source told Cole.
Said another Bengals source, "He's not really the solution to what we need."
Ouch!
Not only are these comments riveting, but the fact that it's coming from inside the building before Jones plays a single game speaks volumes.
Could this discontent be coming from the coaching staff? There have been rifts in the past between owner Mike Brown's football decisions and the coaches having to make it work on the field, especially with examples like this in which Cincinnati is trying to get a troubled player on the cheap to fill an important role.
The fact that the Bengals won the AFC North last season and perhaps are just a few good players away from contending may have sparked that bitter flame once again.
Jones may shake the rust and improve to the point where he can be a valuable contributor in 2010. If that's the case, all of this will blow over.
But if Jones is not ready to return to the NFL, there are at least two people reportedly inside the Bengals' organization who can say "I told you so."

So why is it when the Bengals sign someone with a record, it's all over the news, but if another team signs someone nothing is said??
Stallworth signed with Ravens.... ~And he KILLED someone!~

They could have signed Dante' Stallworth and had a guy that killed someone whilke driving under the influence like Baltimore :bigthumb They now have 2 people on their team that has killed someone and more or less got away with it.

I think the whole Stallworth thing is a bunch of shit...try killing someone in your car and see if you get 30 days in jail.
The Ravens are a f'ed up team to begin with....I have no respect for them either. They did after all used to be the Browns.....

THe number one reason why I would gladly help him pack bags and leave town. The number one reason why I think the stadium should be converted into a mall or be used for the new casino since we are stuck with that now as well. Tired of paying his bills with property tax dollars and sales tax increases while he sits on millions. On the other hand that's what you get when you have wieners in charge of the county that continue to bow to his every command and threat. Throw them ALL out!!!! Brown, Bengals and county spineless politicians.:)
