410 gear

+1 and with some good drag radials you should be able to hit 13's easily.

Talk to Dirtydog. Get at least 3.73s, high stall converter, Jmod and a tune. Best bang for your buck. My friend Rick has a PI head swapped 95 Cougar. He already had 3.73s, and just the converter and Jmod took him from 14.80s to 13.90s.

4.30's, converter, and a tune would be the first parts I would consider.

+1 on the 4.10 gear if not a 4.30 gear. Couldn't help you on the auto, never owned one in a mustang. A tune box will allow you to also tweak the shift on that automatic as well. Cold air kit may help a little but not as much as you may think. Exhaust and O/R crossover pipe will also help to some degree. I had an 02GT 5 speed and was no expert by any means at the track and ran 13.8 on 2.0 60 ft times which was pathetic at best. I had the follwing: 4.10, bassani X-pipe, magnaflow exhaust, 75mm TB, P/P upper intake elbow, CAI and tuned at MD. Nothing else special at all. THe big wakeup was the 4.10 gear. The mod engines lask torque down low unlike the 5.0 but rev higher than the 5.0 so torque can be made with a 4.10 or 4.30. Gas mileage will likely come into question so will save you the concern now. Got 18-19 with the 4.10 5 speed in the city and actually averaged better than 25 MPG on a trip to North Carolina the summer before I traded it in. Chances are the 99 has a 3.08 or 3.27 gear in it if it is totally stock. This will wake it up very nicely. Tlak to Cincy Speed or MD they have done a lot of these and can give you a second opinion.

A 3800 stall will make more change alone than any other bolt on you could put on it. Nitrous and a supercharger run a close second.
