Looking to throw a focus pump in my 2v. For those that have done it, anything special i have to do. Do i need just the pump or the whole module. Also what year focus are you getting the pump for.

I've always wondered that too. I thought everyone went after the GT dual pumop setup. I have heard of this but have no idea why a pump for a four banger would be able to provide the volume to outperform the factory pump in a GT 2v modular setup.

somebody correct me if i am wrong but i think a focus pump is 315 gph and a regular pump is 255

I'll buy that but I am still curious why a focus would need such a high volume pump compared to a GT 4.6L 2V stock vs stock. Even if the thing is a turbo setup I can't the Focus SVT needing that kind of volume. Must be something I am missing.

The lincoln Aviator pump is a good one too.Prolly very similar to the focus.

It is a higher volume pump that will deliver that volume at a higher pressure. The GT pumps won't work in a mustang GT without modification to the lines and sump. Yes, the only way I know of is to get the focus svt pump is to get the entire basket assembly from Ford and then disassemble it and take the pump out, then swap into your tank. We've done a lot of these, the best pump for the money. Maybe someone knows of a place to buy just the pump, if so I would like to know that as well. If you need more pump the next step is to go with an 03/04 cobra tank, twin pumps and cobra fpdm. Then the next step after that is twin GT pumps and an upgraded fpdm. That will support a lot more hp.

I did end up getting a focus pump, I also found it o'rielys, and it is just the electrical pump part i paid $126 it is an airtexs brand.(lifetime warrenty):bigthumb And to the guy that didnt understand why it was a higher volume pump, from what i been told carmeo's are the same way from the v6 to v8 pumps.

Interesting. I wonder then if the focus setup may be running a return style fuel setup (regulator with tank return line) vice an FPDM (fuel pressure demand module, right?) style that uses pressure sensor feedback signal to control the fuel pump via PWM drive based on maintaining a constant pressure to drive the pump and not just on constant regulated flow. Then again it may just be passed my pee-wit brain LOL! Just trying to increase my knowledge level folks, thanks.
