Just wondering if anyone has ever done these? I have changed rotors and pads on quite a few different vehicles but had a few questions about these Escapes. I know on the Hybrid model you have to pull a few fuses, and disconnect the battery to prevent the abs from exploding the calipers when they are taken off. Is this only for the Hybrid model? I tried to find a free diagram of some sort online and haven't had much luck. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. :bigthumb

I guess its suppose to be something electronic that pushes them back out automatically? I don't know why engineers come up with things like this. Why change something that already works? I came to the conclusion that I would pop the caliper off, c-clamp it real fast and hope it doesn't pop out when I go to put it back on lol. I had never heard of anything like that until I looked the rotors/brakes up online...

the lady drives one of these. i have never even heard about the calipers... ooops. it went fine for me. i just did it like any other brake job. i had to go through three different brands of pads because it kept having a squeeling problem. pep boys middle grade fixed them. i dont know if that will help at all . good luck.

thanks inferno. i did manage to get it done. just like you said, like any other brake job. parts and supplies were paid for by the in-laws, all i had to do was donate my time. guess it keeps them offa my back for a while lol.
