Od light blinking

Just bought a ford e250 cargo van 5.8 dont know what trans is in it But the overdrive light keeps blinking and it feels like second gear has a little jerk also treats me like shit when down shifting could this be the epc or somethin Thanks for any info..

What year is it? 4 speed, or 5 speed?

its a 96 and its a 4speed

That is pretty much your check engine light for your trans. If you are in the madisonville area at all through the week i work at R&R transmissions across from madison bowling lanes stop by and ill scan it for ya. Ask for jake.
