Well started lowering the Vert..everything going as planned until I go to put the strut nut back on...man that is a bitch to tighten down...impact just spins the shaft? Then when I try and turn it and hold the end with a large screw driver it's everything I can do turn...anyone have any tips or tricks for this?

Had the same problem on my old 97 GT, what I did was get 2 small wrenchs (10 MM and 13 MM IIRC) and put one on the nut itself and the other on the end of the shaft. Then as you turn the nut clockwise to tighten turn the shaft counter clockwise to give it resistance to let it tighten. You dont need to put A LOT of torque behind it, but I would get it hand tight. Just remember to push with your palm open because if it slips your breaking a few fingers on the strut bar.

Yea...I am wondering if it would be easier to tighten the rest of the way after I get everything else back to together and the tire on the ground?

What I did was use the jack to pre load the control arm and put the new struts back onto the control arm and tighten the strut nut in the tower.

In the tower is my issue...I did not remove it from the control arm.

jack the control arm up. sometimes I take small vice grips and grab towards the top most part of the strut from the wheel well. The nut shouldn't be that tight going back on unless your starting to crossthread it with the impact.
