I just got my wifes 99 V6 six car as my new toy. I am wondering is messing with the 3.8 worth it or should i just swap in a V8?

If you supercharge/turbo and 8.8 rearend, then it can be worth it. Messing with the small bolt ons, not really.

for money you spend on a swap for a v8 you can get about 330hp out of the sixxer. get a 4.3 stroker kit and turbo and 8.8 rear end. but if you want a v8 just sell it and buy a gt or cobra.

I built a turbo kit myself for less than 1500 and the results where 300rwhp and 331rwtq. On a completely stock engine boosting 11-12 pounds of boost everyday for 2 years 40,000 miles later, then spun a rod bearing from over boosting one cold winter morning like 14lbs of boost going up hill. With the right tune and a little homework it will handle a pretty good amount of abuse.
