I'm headed to the dyno this Thur and I thought it would be fun to see who has the closest guess for HP. I buy the winner a beer at the spring cruise! Its a 94 GT with...
347 stroker 10.8:1 comp
Out of the box Edelbrock Victor Jr. heads
Out of the box Edelbrock Victor EFI intake
Stage 3 Trickflow cam
1.6 rockers
87-93 throttle body swapped
Accufab 75mm race throttle body
Custom 4in cold air intake
1 3/4 Mac shorty headers
Mac 3in Prochamber
Dynomax 3in bullet mufflers no tailpipes
UPR u/d pullies no a/c, smog, or power steering.

Yeah this is the real question. Depending on where you take it, it could range from Blown up, 305rwhp, 315rwhp, 320rwhp, 330rwhp....or take it to that place in CINCY and it'll make around 403.3rwhp. lol. Goodluck....Hope it makes whatever you were hoping for.

i dont know on slicks, ive never really seen it done ... air pressure is a funny thing on the dyno, but this is coming from someone else ... i think dave (95turbo) is running that combo on a 331 as well ... he dyno'd on slicks and still made 335+ ... this guy is running more cam and cubic inches ... man its hard to say ... i would still think 350hp ... hell i made 357 with a very small combo and a 331 ... cant wait to see his numbers ...

if your dyno numbers are a bit lower than expected, go get that lower intake machined ... they fit poorly out of the box, even with your edelbrock heads ... then port match it while you're at it ...
there is a pinch point in that upper intake as well ... it narrows down to a 65mm in the neck, port that outwards ... you may see as much as 25hp by fixing all of the out of the box issues ...

Does anybody have any dyno sheets or video to prove the street tire vs. slick theory? I have heard different stories from alot of different people over the years about this. I see it as my prostars and slicks are lighter which equals less rotating mass but on the other hand I can see how street tires could have less drag on the dyno, but then again my street tires are on heavy 17x10.5 wheels. I'm the type that needs proof before I will believe anything.

In fairness I was never told that I would be charged more. I always wanted to make back to back pulls using street tires, dr's, and slicks when I worked at Dayton Performance but it was just one of those things that I never thought of when I had my cars on the dyno.

I'd be really curious to know myself. I originally dynoed with drag radials, although we did air them up to like 40psi thinking it might help. I think the big issue is sidewall flex isn't it? I'll most likely be getting new tires put on before i come down to dyno so i'll prob be on street tires. If i find some slicks to bring with me i'll be all about it.

Could it be too much cam causing the drop off? Or in other words not enough heads/intake? Maybe something to do with port velocity or something alone those lines? Mine peaked at 6300 with old school ported heads and similarish cam specs. Heck and a duel plane intake too.

Well its pretty clear that the torque is done and that the hp is falling off. It may have flatened out for a few hundred more rpms but I doubt it I wasn't to worried about because this was just a quick tune to get the a/f right so the car would stop stinking up my garage and house evertime it was started. This spring I'm going to put ethanol in it and give it a little more timing, then we will rev it out a little more and see what happens. I might even have the heads and intake ported before then

where did you dyno the 352? ... it makes a HUGE difference where you go ...
Nah seems like all the dynos in the Dayton area are within a few hp of eachother. I can feel the extra power that this car has over the other car to.
