I will also forwarn. Do not come on here at the end of the year with a low post count, not coming to events and expect your time to be counted. It will not. You wanna be on one of the lists. Come out and actually be a Stangbanger, whether you have a Stang or not. We want as many people as we can get, but it's simply not fair to those who are actually participating members. The time for whinging and crying is over!

lol, shawns vert did the same time ... shawn, mark and beefcake ~ all 12.88's at 106 ... 3 different combos ...

shawns was with a 1.87 60 ft and a 28" drag radial, which probably killed 2-3 mph ... we went back with slicks, hoping for a 12.399 at around 109-110 and the fuel pressure regulator went out ... we'll be back :bigthumb

i was hoping to push 12.5's or so myself friday, just couldn't get the track figured out

first trip as low as 13psi, the car kept lightning the tires up at 5k

so, i started at 14.5 or so this week.

1st pass - 5k dump, light it up

2nd pass - tried feathering - bogged

3rd pass - back to 5k dump, bogged

4th pass - 5600 dump, bogged

5th pass - tires to 16.2, bogged.

lol

ran outta time no more passes. i figured my alum driveshaft was gonna get me a tenth, and maybe get me into the 107's. dunno

lol, I feel your pain.

My first pass I figured since the track was cold I would launch at 3k, bogged.

2nd, 15psi leaving at 5k, spun through 2nd.

3rd, 12psi leaving at 5k, spun but only 2 revolutions or so.

4th, I'm guess was at ~14psi since I never changed a thing pressure wise after last pass leaving at 5k, best hook of the day but still rolled them twice.

5th pass was at 17psi and I just roasted them on that launch.


Just goes to show you how every little thing counts. Proper shift points, tire pressure, launch rpm, burnout time. One change or mistake could ruin a pass. Gotta love it!

I think she has an 11.8-11.9 in her. Also need the clutch adusted as its wayyy to hard to get into gear. I will have to see the video of that first pass when you get time Terry.

Anyway I was wondering if this works enough to get me on the Wicked Women. I own my 2008 mustang gt (torchredgt) and ran a 14.159 at 102.96. You had posted it on the site from your video shot. Nice camera work by the way. Thanks for the info for the site. It is the first of many runs I hope to make at the track. Anyway don't forget to read my post on Newbies!!

Give me a victor intake for free and ill run it. These small heads I have cant utilize big airflow. I had a short runner upper on it last week and it went 10.50 @ 127. So sissymax FTW biotch.

I talked Ricky into his and was let down when it only picked up like 12 rwhp. But is car clearly showed improvement at the track. Plus it would be so much easier to work on it wouldn't even be funny

i like those victor 5.0's, but man they need machined ... the upper intake needs ported in the neck, its like a square 65mm opening right there ... it opens up pretty decent with about 10 hours of work ...

side to side, mine fit decent ... it wont sit flush down in the valley, about 1/4" off (top to bottom) ... $75 and its fixed :bigthumb

None taken. Ive tried several things in an effort to pick up with no sucess. Now simply returning to my original setup has yielded the best results. Looks as if yours made a bit more power.

My buddy has it now and he took it to Gary Rohe and had him redo the chassis and wiring and it now has a 29x11.5w on it so it should bring the mail

I would never put pump gas in it. I never wanted a chance for it to detonate. It made 550 even on the 9.94 i took it back and put some timing in it and it made 619 never got to see if it would run any better

First off, being "registered" on the site does not qualify you. Being a participating member qualifies you.

Period. We won't have all the drama at the end of the year like we had last year. Post, particate, hit the cruises.

I do believe we squeaked flyin on the list last year, but not the year before.

well, my car is actually being used by a shop for r&d for their products for a couple weeks and they are giving me a free exhaust for it. however, if it makes everyone happy, when i update the list, i will remove it for now.

"His car isn't really a street car" is something I hear a lot. Problem is, everybody's opinion on what a true street car is will be different. As the rules sit right now, a street car is defined as having license, tags and insurance. I made it this way only to parallel the NMRA Wild Street definition. This is probably the toughest one to call so making these cars come out on the street to stay on the list will make things more fair in my opinion. This can be accomplished by requiring the cars to drive to the track at least once and/or showing up at our big cruise-ins.

Remember kids, this is for fun, bragging rights and a decal....nothing more. No big money prizes, no sponsorship deals, no trophies....just some good ole boys bringing out their cars and putting a beating on 1320 feet of tarmac!

This was Vinnys idea and we are going to respect him by keeping his rules and try and keep this simple....

-A Participating member of Stangbangerz.
**That means, you show up to SBZ events and get-togethers.

**AND**

**you are an active member on Stangbangerz forums (posting 100 things for sale is NOT an active member)

-Runs must be made at a local T&T at Edgewater, Kil-Kare or Tri-State with fellow SBZ members witnessing them (these are our local tracks)

-A Ford-powered Mustang/Capri with insurance, tags and registration matching the car. Pump gas, race gas, slicks, radials, whatever... But exhaust must run through a muffler of some sort. Turbos do NOT count as mufflers.

-Owner may have help building his/her car, but they, the OWNER will race it. No hired shoes to race for them.

-If fail to post up that you broke to deliberately stay on the list, you are off...PERMANENTLY.

-If you break, blow up, change combo, your off the list till you re-run the car. All times before are void. Your new best will be your qualifying number. No "one hit" wonders.
*Broke is: Something happened and you cannot make another run (or drive it home).

Had a good day at tristate in spite of the sweltering heat! First couple of passes were off pace (12.5-12.6@108-109 with 1.66-1.68 60'). I decided to try locking the timing at 28 degrees which rewarded me with my best to date: R/T .320

The rules have always been there and have never been changed. Vinny set the rules and we are just trying to stick with them.

I get so tired of hearing people bitch and whine every f'ing year. Over and over and over.

How bout we change the rules to the list. You only have to register on stangbangerz. You don't have to have more than 1 post count listing your time. Or, maybe you sold a part or 2. You have a fast car, so you deserve to be a member of the stangbangerz dirty dozen list because it's the end all to life itself as we know it.

And since we really don't have to be a stangbanger any more, lets open it to all makes and models.

Now, since you really don't have to actually be a participating member any more, or even own a mustang for that matter, we should open it up to people out of town as well.

Now, how bout since we are extending the list to people out of town, that if you take your car out of town, it counts at that track, since the out of town people get to run there too.

Now, since some tracks run all year long, we will run the list til december 31st each year and restart the list on January 1st.

Shit, since were running out of town, maybe we will open it up to people out of the country, might as well at this point. Maybe we can get some German or Italian peeps on here too.

It's all f'ing stupid. Stangbangerz is a web based group. Obviously alot of us are friends outside of Stangbangerz. However, this list as Vinny stated is for participating members of Stangbangerz. Period. That sums it all up. I don't care if you were on the list 3 years in a row. If you aren't participating this year. You don't qualify.

Great you got a fast street car, and we all can appreciate that. We all know people with fast street cars. Here and around the country. That doesn't make them participating members of Stangbangerz.

So, If you got time to sell a f'ing part, or post a time on a f'ing list. Take some time to get involved in some other threads. If you don't have 5 minutes a friggin weak to make a few posts. Then don't bother wasting mine or the other mod/admins times posting your E.T. in the list.

I have an idea.....Why don't the staff discuss this together. The rules are the same as when Vinny was with us. If they want to change the rules then fine. Its not like we are running for money. I thought he did it for fun and make some good people get together and have a good time and see some cars race. I really get tired of reading about the complaining and crap stirring. If you have a car follow the rules post a time. If you don't have a car, get one and stfu. If they change the rules and I can't post times for a list, then I simply will not post them. Are you serious national trails don't count? What about clay city? So if a good posting stangbanger lives in columbus he can't be on the list unless he travels over nd hour and half minimum to make a pass? Umtr races there and the stangbangerz travel with it.
