Hey,

I'm new, hopefully this is a good place to post this question.

So I did an entire car rebuild (1991 GT components in an 87 4 cylinder rust free body...mostly). I'm still finding bits here and there that I need to work on.

Today I was crawling around under the dash and noticed a bracket with a cable (see picture) that was wedged up behind my dash. The tube for the cable is short, looks like it attached somewhere around the pedals. Also, it is REALLY hard to see where it goes, but it looks like it runs up next to the steering column shaft and into the column.

What does this cable do? Where does it mount? I'm baffled!

Thanks!
JR

Yes it was actually. I have no experience with any type of automatics. Is this a cable from that?

It is the cable to shifter on automatic cars...
